Creekside Estate Winery, VQA Syrah 2016
- The 2013 vintage is decidedly aromatic, with aromas of violets, plum, red currant and white pepper. The palate is medium bodied with bright fruit flavours of wild raspberry and strawberry, followed by a savoury cedar and white pepper finish.
- Syrah grapes were harvested from select blocks in Niagara vineyards throughout the month of October. All individual vineyards were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks or small batch one tonne fruit bins. Malolactic fermentation took place in oak barrel where the wine was aged for 11 months. 42% American, 58% French with 20% being new oak.
- Platinum Medal - National Wine Awards
- “Here's a terrific little syrah from Creekside, all zest and white pepper in the genuine cool climate idiom, with saliva-inducing acids and light dusty tannins. This is the sort of wine I could sip all night, with a light chill. A great BBQ/ porch/ deck/ dock/ patio/ terrace wine, unless of course you're elsewhere, in which case it'll be fine, too.” 88pts - John Szabo, WineAlign.com
